Bangkok part 2

We ended up staying in Bangkok for over a week and have just got to Singapore. As our flight landed at 1am & the underground had finished we decided to spend the night sleeping in the airport.

The food here is brilliant, pad thai or green curry for less than 50p

Last weekend we went to Chatuchak Market... it claims to be the biggest market in the world, I'm not sure if it is but it is huge. They sell absolutely everything you could ever need and even more. They had a whole section for pets, with loads of puppies and kittens, I should have probably thought it was cruel, but they were so cute.

The boat is the nicest way to see Bangkok as it's much cooler on the water and they run the boats like buses but you get to do a bit of sightseeing

We were in Bangkok over Chinese New Year, but never actually managed to get to Chinatown for the parade, still a great place to be while everyone is celebrating

Went to see the massive lying down Buddha at Wat Pho, the Buddha itself was pretty good, mainly because it was huge & apparently made of solid gold, DSCF8820.jpg
but I think the rest of the temple there was much more impressive

We now have so many photos of monks I think I could make a whole album of them. Still not managed to get a photo of one smoking though...

Our last day in Bangkok we visited the Gold Mount & Wat Ratchanadda. The Gold Mount is a very gold temple on a huge mound

Wat Ratchanadda is pretty much still being built & looks a bit like a building site from the outside, but it did mean we pretty much had the place to ourselves as it looks closed.

Will update my blog in a few more days with some pictures and what we've been up to in Singapore
